Queen's Jubilee Community Hero & New Facility Manager

Locals accept Queen’s jubilee medals

A number of east Winnipeggers were recently awarded medals in the Queen’s name. (At right) L’Arche Winnipeg members Diane Truderung, Larry Vickar, Hazel V., and Jim Lapp earned Queen Elizabeth ll Platinum Jubilee medals for their service to northeast Winnipeg; while (below) Michele Augert, Dakota Community Centre’s chief executive officer, wass presented with a Platinum Jubilee Community Hero award by Winnipeg South MP Terry Duguid. According to Duguid’s website, he recognized “30 exceptional members of the Winnipeg South community” with awards last year to mark the Queen’s 70th anniversary on the throne.

Dakota Community Centre has a new facility manager.

Erwin Neufeld was recently named the replacement for longtime employee Bob Saelens at the St. Vital-based community centre, which is located at 1188 Dakota St.
