Registration for the 2007 Youth Beach Volleyball League and for any tournaments can only be done online this year using a Visa or MasterCard for payment.  If you do not have access to the Internet or if you do not have a credit card, alternate arrangements can be made by contacting the Winnipeg Minor Volleyball Association at 269-7777. • Teams play once a week and may practice on off nights/week-ends.
• Court size is 8 meters by 8 meters.
• All Youth games will be played at 6:00pm, 7:00pm 8:00pm and 9:00pm and each team will play 2 matches per night.
• Teams will be tiered as needed.  Fair play rules – all players follow their rotation – if spares are available (applies to 14 & Under 4’s only). Matches are best of 3 (two sets to 21 – third to 15).
• Scoring is best of 3 with first two games to 21 and the third to 15.
• League ends in August with all teams competing in a year-end tournament.

• 8-week schedule from June 19-August 10, 2007.
• 9th week is rain week (August 13-August 17, 2007).
• 10th week is play downs (August 20-24,2007).
• Girls 14 & under (born in 1993 or later) play Thursday evenings (6-8pm).
• Girls 16 & under (born in 1991 or later) play Thursday evenings (7-9pm).
• Girls 18 & under (born in 1989 or later) play Thursday evenings (9-10pm).
• Boys 14 & under (born in 1993 or later) play Tuesday evenings (6-7pm).
• Boys 16 & under (born in 1991 or later) play Tuesday evenings (8-9pm).
• Boys 18 & under (born in 1989 or later) play Tuesday evenings (9-10pm).
• NOTE: Starting times will rotate between age classes. E.g. Teams may start at 6pm one week, 7pm the next and so on.

• Dakota Community Club, 1188 Dakota St.
• IMPORTANT: The WMVA will look at a second venue for the upcoming 2007 season.

Fees

• The fee for all participants is $45/per athlete per team.  
• Anyone planning to participate in MVA Youth Beach Tournaments is required to become a Manitoba Outdoor Volleyball (MOV) member. This is a one-time $15 membership fee. Registration is on the MVA web site at www.manitobavolleyball.com.

Rain-Out Games

• If it is raining throughout the day... Please DO NOT call the WMVA office line until at least 4:00 pm that day.  If you wish to check to see if a game has been called due to rain please call the WMVA office at 269-777 after 4:00pm.

Rain Week

• Rain week is reserved strictly for the re-scheduling of matches cancelled by the Summer Series Staff on account of rain or other reasons.

Forfeiture Procedure

• All games shall start on time as scheduled.
• A team that fails to be ready to play 5 minutes after the scheduled game time (6:05pm, 7:05pm, 8:05pm or 9:05pm) will be penalized by loss of the first set by forfeit.
• A further 15 minutes will be allowed before forfeiture of the second set (loss of match for best of 3) and an additional 15 minutes will be allowed before forfeiture of the third set (loss of match for best of 5). 
• There will be NO GAME CANCELLATIONS ALLOWED.

Coaching

• A level 1 technical course will be made available to all volunteer coaches through the Manitoba Volleyball Association (MVA).  Dates to be confirmed.

“Life’s a Beach” Youth Beach Tournament

• On Saturday, July 28 the WMVA will host its third annual “Life’s a Beach” youth tournament at Dakota Community Centre. Entry fee will be $40.00 per team with awards being provided to the top three teams of each age class. REMEMBER: Visit our "TOURNAMENTS" page for a complete listing of all summer youth beach tournaments.
