We have the following events available to all seniors
within the Dakota area:
Tuesday:
Each Tuesday, Floor Curling takes place. Each team
receives 3 games that day; at 9:30am, 11:00am and 12:30pm. The event is open to
any interested seniors for only $2 per day. Refreshments are included. Please
contact Dot or Art Ross at (204) 254-1010 (200) for more information.
Wednesday:
Dakota CC is very excited to announce the “55+ Wednesday
Drop-In Program” has launched! Each Wednesday, from 9:30am – 2:30pm the Centre
offers a variety of different activities. The morning includes exciting
physical activities such as Tai-Chi ($4 instructor fee cost), and on-ice
skating. As the program grows, the participants are encouraged to come up with
other physical activities or games they would enjoy partaking in. Over the noon
hour a different educational presentation is offered. Lunch is not provided,
bring a bag lunch.
At 1:30pm SHARP the afternoon cards games begin, and take
us until the end of the day.
Watch for special dates, as the centre hosts senior dances
a few times per season. Entertainment is booked, refreshments are included and
costs are normally around $5 for admittance.
Thursday:
Floor Shuffle takes place at the Dakota Community Centre
every Thursday. Teams play 3 games that day; 9:30am, 11:00am and 12:30pm. The
event is open to any interested senior for only $2 per day. Refreshments are
included. Please contact Wally at (204) 254-1010 (200).
