It is important for parents and athletes to understand the purpose of this program.
The Dakota Development Camps' Athletic Performance Program exposes training strategies to children ages 5
- 14, the critical formative development period.
Purpose
To stimulate the enhancement of the central nervous system, the primary mechanism controlling
agility, balance, coordination and speed. To provide proper training techniques and specific games
that challenge basic athletic fundamentals to enhance overall physical capacities.
Objectives
In an environment of fun and games, to create a systematic stimulation that will promote the
acceleration of the central nervous system capacities necessary in general athletic function.
To introduce
the students to the fundamentals of athleticism through a process including agility, balance coordination.
Opportunities
Every Summer Dakota Development camp participant will be exposed to the Athletic
Performance program during the off-ice training component of their 1 or 2 week sessions.
The
opportunity for
more advanced individual or team sessions is offered.
